Sayville School District Among Nation’s Best for Music Education

Renowned for being a district that values ​​the arts, Sayville was once again awarded the title of “Best Communities for Music Education” in the United States as part of a national survey conducted by NAMM (the National Association of Music Merchants). music). The Sayville Music Education program first received this honor in 2004 and has won it consecutively for the past twelve years.

The NAMM’s Best Communities for Music Education designation, now in its 22nd year, is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide access and music education to all students.

To qualify for the Best Communities designation, the Sayville Music Department answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class attendance, instruction time, facilities, music program support and community music creation programs. The answers were verified with school officials and reviewed by the Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.
