It’s finally Thursday and that means putting together a program for the weekend around indoor activities, all-you-can-eat breakfasts with friends and other great things to do in Dubai.

Zabeel House by Jumeirah, The Greens unveiled a new plan – Project Art which is designed to empower Dubai’s artistic community. Yousra Wahba’s artwork is on display until June 18 at this popular hotel. Expect to see lots of fascinating fluid acrylic and resin art.

Woman and scarecrow
When: June 16 to 19, 2021
The show is about an unnamed woman as she lies on her deathbed. As time goes by, she reflects on the ups and downs of her life, her children and her wayward husband. Holding Death is an ambiguous character, called Scarecrow, who accompanies him on this journey offering a bit of solace and recrimination in equal measure. Read more here.

The Alliance Française de Dubaï celebrates the summer solstice (the longest day of the year) with a music festival on June 19. The festival will be held at the Alliance Française de Dubaï in Oud Metha and music lovers can expect a wide range of melodies ranging from classical to jazz and even Arabic.

Zine workshop for teens

The Jameel Arts Center is hosting a series of free events for toddlers and teens this weekend. The workshop includes a guided tour of the galleries and a journey of discovery of works of art followed by creative hands-on activities, unique to each visit and led by the Jameel Arts Center learning coordinator, Madeline Abu Nabah. The workshops are suitable for adolescents over 14 years of age and no prior art skills are required. Supplies will be provided.

Coster resin workshop
If you want to create your own unique piece of art, try this resin workshop. At Casa De Arte, a Resin Coasters Workshop takes place this Saturday where you can create your own magical coasters using the special resin art technique. The workshop is suitable for beginners, but spaces are limited, so be sure to book before you go. The two hour workshop starts at 2 p.m. and will cost you 220 Dhs. All materials will be provided * You will make four coasters that you can take home with you once it has taken.
